One hundred members of Congress (so far) have cosponsored a bill (HR 358 The Protect Life Act) introduced by far right Congressman Joe Pitts (R-PA) called the "Protect Life Act." They want to "protect life" so much that they have written into the bill a new amendment that would override the requirement that emergency room doctors save every patient, regardless of status or ability to pay. The law would carve out an exception for pregnant women; doctors and hospitals will be allowed to let pregnant women die if interventions to save them will kill the fetus.

Another elected official I'm sad to say 'represents' my state but doesn't represent me -
have you noticed that the people that propose this are always MEN, never women?
Why does (Republican) government think it should get to decide whose life is more valuable? Shouldn't that be a family decision?
Also Republicans are always screaming against government intruding in their lives so why do they think it is OK to intrude in the lives of women. Especially when it comes to a woman's body/life.
Yes, isn't it heartwarming to note how eager MEN are to let women die. I am sure if there was a proposal to deny a man medical care MEN would be up in arms.
Me is sorry that yous did not win my contest. Me would really have liked to send everybody one of my Mommy’s paintings. Me can’t, but my Mommy said she will send a postcard of one of her paintings to everybody who entered. If yous sends me your snail mail address, me will send yous a postcard!
